Posted by Now we all know Garrett Morgan for his invention of the stop light. Right? Well if you didn’t know, Garret Morgan invented the stop light. But I felt in my spirit that did no justice to the true excellence of Mr. Morgan. I feel like that’s all people focus on is Garrett Morgan and the stop light. But he did some other cool things too.

1. Hair straightening cream
2. Black hair oil dye
3. Curved tooth straightening comb
4. Smoke hood for fire fighters
5. Gas mask
6. Improved sewing machine
7. Zigzag stitching attachment for manually operated sewing machines
8. Women’s hat fastener
9. Round belt fastener
10. Friction drive clutch
11. Traffic light…of course (The patent was filed February 27th 1922, almost 98 years ago!)
He also had several business ventures:
1. A tailoring shop
2. Sewing machine repair company
3. G.A. Hair Refining Company
4. He also started a newspaper in Cleveland Ohio
