You say Henry Ford I say C.R. Paterson & Sons Company.

C.R. Paterson & Sons Company was founded by Charles Richard Patterson in 1893 and later taken over by his son Frederick Paterson In 1910. C.R. Paterson & Sons Company started off as a carriage making company and then transitioned to automobiles in the early 1900’s.

Patterson invented the Paterson-Greenfield car in 1915. Along with the invention of the car Paterson had several patents, one of which was the dashboard. It is said that the Paterson-Greenfield car was more sophisticated and higher quality than its counterpart of the time, the Model T. Unfortunately, they could not compete with mass production and the assembly line. C.R. Paterson & Sons Company eventually went out of business in 1939.
