Re-education; A transitive verb meaning to train again, especially to rehabilitate through education.
In 2019, inspired by my love for Black history, I challenged myself to send one fact a day during Black History Month. The excitement and interest from you is what prompted me to create, The Re-Education Blog. From humble beginnings of iPhone notes and group messages, The Re-Education Blog was born. This new blog platform will allow me to share content with you easier and more seamlessly than before. You will be able to easily access the daily facts, past blog post in case you miss a day, and even share your favorite posts with your friends. *Please share with others :)*
The Name? Well I’m so glad you asked. The Re-Education Blog was inspired by the 1933 book, The Mis-Education of the Negro, author and father of Black History Month himself, Carter G. Woodson. The Re-Education Blog aims to educate and inspire those who read it by opening their eyes to, or reminding them of the amazing accomplishments of their African American ancestors. After all, “Those who have no record of what their forbearers have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history.” – Carter G. Woodson
